Today’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in Ohio: Laura of Pembroke. Laura Sirpilla Bosworth, Veronica Sirpilla and John Sirpilla started the family venture over 25 years ago in the Cleveland area. In 1997, they relocated the store to its present location in Canton. Originally a boutique that only carried women’s designer clothing and accessories, the shop has since expanded to offer fine home furnishings, interior design consulting, and personal shopper services. Dapper Classics is pleased to contribute to Laura of Pembroke’s initial line of men’s accessories.
Located in northeastern Ohio, Canton was founded in 1805. Canton is known as the birthplace of the National Football League and the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The city is also famous for its role in the 1896 presidential election. During the presidential campaign, William McKinley held his popular “front porch campaign” from his home in Canton. McKinley eventually won the presidency and was later re-elected for a second term in 1900. In 1901, McKinley became the third U.S. president to be assassinated.
