Today’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in Mississippi: Hinton & Hinton Outfitters. Owned by father and son Forrest and Steve Hinton, the store is located on Oxford’s historic Square. Hinton & Hinton began as a high-end haberdasher in 1990 but has evolved with time. Nowadays the store carries a broad range of clothing, from t-shirts to sports coats. Last year, Hinton & Hinton was named the Best Men’s Clothing Store in Oxford.
Founded in 1837, Oxford, Mississippi was named after the British university city of Oxford. In 1848, Oxford, Mississippi also became a university city with the opening of University of Mississippi—commonly known as “Ole Miss”. Oxford has been ranked one of the top college towns in the United States and one of the Best Small Towns in America. The city has been home to Nobel prize-winning author William Faulkner and Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning.
