Market Season

Dapper Classics Booth

The Dapper Classics Booth at the Chicago Collective

Summer is an exciting time of year for Dapper Classics. Those familiar with the Dapper Classics brand know that our website launched in the Summer of 2012. This year we celebrated our second anniversary by knitting a special edition patriotic dress sock. Summer is also a time  for Dapper Classics to celebrate new beginnings. July and August are two of the busiest months of the year for menswear markets. Attending market shows allows us to connect with old friends, interact with other brands, and establish new retail partners.

Over the last few weeks, The Dapper Classics Team attended men’s shows in New York City, Chicago, and Charlotte. We made a lot of great contacts while previewing some of our newest sock styles. We met Grahame Fowler–co-founder of the popular Robert Graham brand–Bryan Horn–owner of Over Under Clothing, a purveyor of Made in USA accessories and sporting goods–and the Hill brothers of High Cotton–makers of American-Made ties. We shared the market floor with other well-known, quality brands such as Collared Greens, Smathers & Branson, Southern Tide, and Vineyard Vines. We also picked up new custom clothiers, established a private label partnership, and gained new retail partners in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia (along with taking re-orders from many of our existing retailer partners). In short, it was an exciting market season for Dapper Classics. Look for Dapper Classics socks in a fine men’s shop near you and learn more about our retail partners by reading the Feature Friday posts here on our blog.
