Feature Friday – Shaffer’s

Shaffer'sToday’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in New Jersey: Shaffer’s. Originally located in Trenton, Shaffer’s was founded in 1943. The shop has since moved to Lawrenceville and is now operated by master tailor Pasquale Chiavatti. Shaffer’s makes men’s custom suits and shirts and provides tailoring services for men, women, and children. The store also sells and rents formalwear and offers a dry cleaning service. With over 70 years in business, Shaffer’s is the oldest shop in the area.

Lawrenceville is a small town located approximately halfway between Trenton and Princeton. Lawrenceville’s Main Street Historic District was one of the first registered historic districts in New Jersey. The town is home to Lawrenceville School, which, according to Business Insider, was the most expensive private high school in the United States in 2013. Graduates of the school include former White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, country music star Dierks Bentley, and NBA all-star Joakim Noah.
