During presidential election season, it’s not uncommon to hear people say a candidate “looks presidential”. While this is a common compliment, its meaning is rather complex. The presidential look accounts for a person’s political savvy, intelligence, confidence, oratorical acumen, and ability to identify with the needs of the people. Looking presidential, perhaps more obviously, also has to do with a candidate’s physical appearance and dress. As we like to say, “Dapper is in the Details” – so is the presidential look. More than any other President of the United States, Bush 41 appreciates how socks can make an outfit.
President George Bush’s love for socks is well-chronicled. 41 once described his passion for socks as one of his “guilty pleasures”. From socks bearing his image to red, white, and blue striped socks, 41’s sock drawer includes a wide variety of styles. The George Bush Presidential Foundation has encouraged others to enjoy the former President’s passion by designing their own socks.
Considering 41’s love for socks, we’re very excited to announce that Dapper Classics is now the official sock provider for the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. We’ve knitted two styles (pictured above) exclusively for the Museum Store. Both patriotic styles celebrate 41’s long-time home and the location of his Presidential Library and Museum (Texas).
These socks can only be purchased through the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum Store. You can shop the Museum Store online here. Get yours and look presidential!
