Feature Friday – Ashworth’s Clothing

Today’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in North Carolina: Ashworth’s Clothing. Ashworth’s Clothing is located in historic downtown Fuquay-Varina. Rufus and Cornelia Ashworth opened the store in 1937. The shop, now in its third generation of family ownership, carries a wide selection of menswear – from t-shirts to tuxedos – and accessories.

Fuquay-Varina, a small town located in central North Carolina, came about through the merging of two separate towns in 1963: Fuquay Springs and Varina. Fuquay-Varina is the former home of Rhett and Link, award-winning “internetainers”.

Feature Friday – J. Toor

Today’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in Illinois: J. Toor. J. Toor is a specialty menswear shop in Chicago. The store specializes in custom suits, shirts, jackets, overcoats, trousers, and more. Following a detailed measuring process involving approximately 40 measurements, each piece is tailored in the United Kingdom. J. Toor’s signature designs have been featured on the runways of New York Fashion Week, in national style publications, and have been worn by national media personalities. J. Toor recently designed a custom suit for a contestant on The Bachelorette. In addition to custom clothing, J. Toor’s offers ready-to-wear menswear and women’s accessories.

Chicago is the most populous city in Illinois and the third largest city in the United States. Chicago’s rich culture – from arts and music to professional sports – makes it a popular tourist destination. Chicago is well-known for its unique cuisine, including its nationally renowned deep-dish pizza. Lou Malnati’s pizza is a Dapper Classics Team favorite.

Feature Friday – Signature Stag

Today’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in Texas: Signature Stag. Signature Stag opened in Midland in 2013. The shop, West Texas’s premier destination for menswear, carries a wide selection of men’s clothing and accessories. Signature Stag offers a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. The store has the feel of a hunting lodge and features comfortable seating, large televisions, and beer on tap.

Midland is located midway between Fort Worth and El Paso. Midland is nicknamed “The Tall City” for its downtown skyline. Midland is also known for its connection to the Bush Family. George H.W. Bush and family lived in Midland during the future president’s time working in the oil industry. Midland is also the hometown of former First Lady Laura Bush.

Feature Friday – Mr. Carl’s Custom Tailoring

Today’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in New Hampshire: Mr. Carl’s Custom Tailoring. Carl Holton, a WWII veteran who studied clothing and design and worked in menswear following his service, opened his shop in Portsmouth in 1979. Carl’s son, Rheinhold, took over the business in 1990 and has since been joined by his brother, Jay. Today the second-generation family business carries on its founder’s commitment to quality and service. The shop, which offers tailoring services for men and women, specializes in custom clothing.

Portsmouth is located in southeast New Hampshire. The city is a historic seaport and popular tourist destination. Portsmouth was once home to John Paul Jones, the “Father of the U.S. Navy.”

Feature Friday – Erik’s Clothing & Culture

Today’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in Ohio: Erik’s Clothing & Culture. After 20 years of work in menswear, Erik Anderson opened his own store in Sandusky in 2007. The shop, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, stocks men’s clothing and accessories – including an impressive selection of Made in USA goods – and offers custom services. In his spare time, Anderson is an artist. Erik commissions projects and his work has been featured in local art shows.

Sandusky is located between Toledo and Cleveland on the shore of Lake Eerie. Sandusky is home of Cedar Point, a popular amusement park. Forbes ranked Sandusky as a “Best Place to Live Cheaply.” Sandusky has also been designated a “Tree City USA” by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
