Dapper Classics Italian Leather Satchels

Fred and Connie Rich in Italy

Earlier this year, Fred and Connie Rich traveled to Italy. After taking in the sights and tastes of Rome and Venice, they made their way to Florence. In Florence, a city known for its leather industry, they met a local leather artisan in the market. Following a conversation about his impressive craftsmanship, the gentleman connected Fred and Connie with a nearby factory that produced leather goods. Fred and Connie visited the factory and discussed a potential collaboration before returning to the United States. The Riches had fallen in love with Italy and were wanting to bring part of Italy home with them. Their visit to the leather factory confirmed what that something would be – a Fine Italian Leather Satchel.

Dapper Classics Satchels are Handcrafted

Dapper Classics Fine Italian Leather Satchels are handcrafted near Florence, Italy by craftsmen with more than 25 years of expertise with leather goods. Our limited run of satchels are constructed with calfskin leather that is manually processed, cut, and finished. These satchels – the prototype for which was designed by Connie – feature an adjustable leather shoulder strap, two large compartments, two zip sections for additional storage, a leather 4-card pouch, and metal hardware. The satchels are available in three rich colors – cognac, espresso, and black.

Those who are familiar with Dapper Classics know that we have always been committed to American manufacturing. We still are. We hope to someday produce leather bags here in the USA, but, while we continue exploring those options, we’re happy to support another small business – one run by a man who grew up in a family of leather workers. When people think of leather, they think of Italy. We’re excited to share this piece of Italy, made exclusively for Dapper Classics, with you!
