Feature Friday – Brightwater

Today’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in Minnesota: Brightwater. Located in downtown Excelsior, Brightwater has been in business for more than 25 years. The store, which specializes in men’s and women’s lifestyle clothing and gear, carries a carefully curated selection of brands that have proven to be of high style and quality.

Excelsior is located on Lake Minnetonka approximately 20 minutes west of downtown Minneapolis. The small city has a historic feel with its downtown business area and preservation projects, including a restored steamboat (“The Minnehaha”) and streetcar – both open to the public.

Feature Friday – The Gentry Shop

Today’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in Iowa: The Gentry Shop. Located in Davenport, The Gentry Shop opened in 1948. Originally a men’s store, the shop expanded to offer women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories in 1985. The men’s department carries a wide range of ready-to-wear menswear in addition to offering custom clothing. Next year, the shop celebrates its 70th year servicing the Quad Cities.

Davenport is located along the Mississippi River on the border of Iowa and Illinois. Davenport hosts Bix Fest, a musical named after jazz legend and Davenport native Bix Beiderbecke, each year. Popular tourist destinations in the city include the Davenport Skybridge – a pedestrian bridge that features an observation deck and kaleidoscope lighting at night – and the Figge Art Museum.

Feature Friday – Bahle’s

Today’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in Michigan: Bahle’s. Located in Suttons Bay, Bahle’s opened in 1876. The store, now in its fourth generation of family ownership, has sold a wide range of products throughout its rich history – from refrigerators to sailboats. Today the shop specializes in men’s and women’s “classic clothing for work and play.” The Bahle family is a staple in Suttons Bay. In addition to the clothing store, the family operates the nearby Bay Theatre and a local golf course.

Suttons Bay is located in northern Michigan. The village is an appealing tourist destination in the summer months. Popular local events include jazz and art festivals. Suttons Bay is also known for its contribution to the cherry industry.
