Feature Friday – John Hyatt Clothing

John Hyatt ClothingToday’s Feature Friday spotlights one of our retail partners in New Jersey: John Hyatt Clothing. John Hyatt is located in Summit. Bob Carroll opened the store, which is named after his father, in 2002. Bob’s vision was to create a true haberdashery with plaid wall coverings and decorations from a bygone era. He did just that. In 2013, the store added a Peter Millar Crown Shop. John Hyatt offers an impressive selection of what Bob calls “preppy-traditional clothing for the man (or woman) who doesn’t mind standing out a bit in the crowd.”

Summit is a small but economically and culturally diverse city. In fact, its residents speak over 35 languages. Summit is a popular transportation center due to its close location to Manhattan and major highways. The Carter House, the Reeves-Reed Arboretum, and the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey are among the city’s most popular landmarks. Former Summit residents include musician and actor Ice-T, physicist John Bardeen (the only person to win two Nobel prizes in physics), and controversial legal reformer Anthony Comstock.
